Grover Eagle Boy was born to a Dakota family around 1861. In this note, written by someone he talked to, Grover Eagle Boy recalls how he learned to hunt and to participate in warfare. He was about 15 in 1876 when his village on the Little Big Horn River fought against soldiers led by George Armstrong Custer.
